Matt began his career in residential home building in 2002 with a nationally recognized firm in the Northern Virginia area. In 2003, after successfully completing 130 homes in three years, Matt was honored with the prestigious PROS Award for the top project manager in the DC Metro area in the 75 -100 home category. He went on to be named the firm’s 2004 Project Manager of the Year in the DC Metro area. In 2005, Matt was named Director of Construction for a high-end custom home builder. During his five year tenure, Matt completed more than 20 luxury homes in Arlington, Virginia.
Matt is a Richmond native. He is an alum of Benedictine High School and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Building Construction. Eager to bring his industry experience and talent for delivering high quality, custom craftsman homes to the city he loves, Matt returned to Richmond in 2010 and founded Ellington Homes. He currently resides in Henrico County with his wife, Katie, and their four children, Grace, Charlotte, Evelyn, and Benjamin.
