Scott, a native of Zionsville, Indiana, brings over 20 years of experience in custom home building. He takes pride in crafting homes that are not only beautiful and unique but also functional and comfortable for the families he serves. Throughout his career, Scott has contributed to the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, the National Association of Home Builders, and the Broad Ripple Village Association. In his free time, Scott enjoys golfing, skiing, and boating on Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, as well as spending time with his wife and two sons.

 

Dan Hayes

Building Company President

Dan brings extensive experience and knowledge to his role with Scott Bates Builders, gained from his time practicing real estate law, owning a construction and development company, and working in sales and management as the owner and president of a custom cabinet manufacturing company.  While he has worked in many roles surrounding construction and development, his true passion is building exquisite custom homes and continually working to improve the customer experience.  Outside of building homes, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children, his german shorthaired pointers, hitting the slopes, casting flies while rowing down a river, and doing his best to make his way around a golf course.  He’s involved with the YMCA Flat Rock River Camp, the Brebeuf Jesuit Wrestling program, the Builder’s Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI), and Friends of the White River.

Starting my career in healthcare real estate, I discovered my true passion in construction over the past 6 years. From hands-on experience in warranty and project coordination, to my current role as our Senior Sales Consultant with AR Homes®, I bring a well-rounded perspective to building a custom home.

Shellie Coffing

Sales Associate
Shellie Coffing is a dedicated professional with 15 years of experience in customer service and the service industry. Over the years, she has played a key role in opening several restaurants in the Broad Ripple area, where her passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences flourished. After attending Ivy Tech for culinary school, Shellie worked as a pastry chef, honing her skills and bringing creativity to the kitchen. Seeking a new challenge, Shellie transitioned to the custom home building industry and has been with AR Homes for nearly a year. Her diverse background in customer service, culinary arts, and now custom home building allows her to approach each project with a unique perspective, blending attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
